Something Else Bistro & Bar Review

Here comes my first review of my blog and this new place I found. It's called the Something Else Bistro & Bar. Located just beside the Arang Coffee in Bayan Baru (You can find the exact location below). A nice cozy place, not too big and not too small.

The interior is mostly decorated with an American Bistro style and they even use freight pallet as it's ceiling. Interesting. I can say the place is very much decorated beautifully. I give top points for creativity here.

However, I wish I could say the same for the food. It has a small size menu with huge drinks menu. You can see that it truly focuses on the bar section instead of the bistro. The waiter was polite. He actually explained to us the entire food menu, what it was and what we could expect. A great surprise though, we asked him if they had garlic bread or not and he didn't knew what is was. Alas, the food wasn't that great.

We ordered Nachos, Notorious P.I.G. and the Naked Burger (the burger is not on the menu but was recommended by the waiter)

Now, for the food, the Nachos was extremely spicy. I think it was due to the jalapenos and the sauce was guacamole sauce, (A dip made from avocados) it didn't cover the fiery power of the jalapenos. I was simply overpowered by that heat and couldn't enjoy the chips. The burned cheese was a nice addition though.

The Notorious P.I.G. is actually a sandwich of shredded pork that has been grilled and covered with BBQ sauce. I find the first taste was great but subsequent taste just became worse and worse. The BBQ sauce was overpowering the pork taste and there was no cheese taste despite the cheese clearly being visible. The french fries was sprinkled with some seasoning but lack of salt.

The Naked Burger, as being explained, was a burger without buns. It was made with 3 different patties. Chicken, beef and pork and arranged in that order. Vegetables and cheese are in the middle. The first bite I took was with all 3 patties together. It was rather unique but lack any lasting impression. I dissected the meal and took apart it to try each patties' taste. I just could not find unique taste as it was all drenched in the mushroom sauce. The french fries was totally bland in this meal.

We ended up paying around RM70 for a meal that we did not enjoy. Here is my final verdict
